South Side Golfers Gather for End-of-Season Social at Lynn’s Pizza

As the golf season winds down, members of Midnight Green Golf Club — a growing community of young Black professionals — came together to celebrate their accomplishments with an end-of-season social at Lynn’s Pizza on Chicago’s South Side.

Founded to bring together both new and experienced golfers, Midnight Green has quickly become one of Chicago’s most vibrant and inclusive golf groups. What began as a few friends hitting the course after work has grown into a network of nearly 50 members who share not only a love of the game but also a commitment to building community and connection.

At Lynn’s Pizza, laughter and conversation filled the air as members reflected on the season’s highlights — from first-time birdies to friendly competitions at local courses. The event wasn’t just a party; it was a reminder of how sports can bring people together in powerful ways.

The club’s mission goes beyond improving swings and lowering handicaps. It’s about breaking down barriers in a sport that has often lacked diversity, while showing that golf can be welcoming, social, and fun for everyone.

As the night wrapped up, members raised a toast to a successful season and to even bigger plans ahead — from travel outings to charity tournaments. With its strong sense of community and growing membership, Midnight Green Golf Club is proving that the future of golf in Chicago is not only bright but inclusive.
