On October 25th, the South Side community of Chicago lit up with laughter, costumes, and candy at the annual This Is Life Chicago Trunk-or-Treat event — held this year in Hamilton Park. The nonprofit organization drew hundreds of children and families for a safe, fun-filled Halloween celebration.

About This Is Life Chicago
This Is Life Chicago (founded by Natalie & Dorian D.A. Adams) is a youth-centered movement committed to providing safe spaces for young people to express themselves through performance arts, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. One of its core missions is redirecting youth attention away from negative influences by building positive outlets for creativity, connection, and personal growth.
Throughout the year, the organization hosts various community-driven events — and its Trunk-or-Treat is among the most beloved by families.
Trunk-or-Treat at Hamilton Park
This year’s Trunk-or-Treat brought out dozens of local participants who decorated their vehicles with festive flair — transforming their trunks into pop-up candy stations, spooky displays, and interactive mini-themed booths. Costumed kids ran from trunk to trunk, collecting treats, playing games, and enjoying the spirit of the season.
With free food, candy, and family-friendly activities, the event offered a safe and celebratory space for neighborhood children and their caregivers. The turnout was impressive: hundreds of kids showed up in costume, laughing and sharing in the delight of Halloween in the park.
Parents and organizers said they appreciated how the event created an inclusive, joyful atmosphere. It wasn’t just about candy — it was about bringing people together, building community, and giving kids a chance to shine in their creativity and joy.
